Sheltered partially sunny position required for good results but will survive in in most sheltered positions and is adaptable to most soils. Looking for that different climber then this one will fit the bill. A vigorous speices introduced by E H Wilson in 1907 from Central China flowering April May with purplish male flowers and paler female flowers as this is monoecious we do not know if our plants are female or male until they flower!
